The first look at the new location of the workshop in Tolpuram was not encouraging for the staff. An old textile mill that had not been operational for many years was rented. Years of vegetation growth had to be hacked away just to be able to see and enter the building. A huge Red Cross flag was anchored to the roof, two-way radios installed, an antennae erected. Two generators were muscled onto garden tractors called "Landmasters" and transported to the mill. The open water well was cleaned and a kerosene pump installed.
